Why leather dries and cracks in Dubai's climate, and the conditioning routine that keeps it supple for years.

Leather is skin — it needs oils to stay flexible. Heat and air-conditioning both strip moisture, and Dubai delivers plenty of both. Dry leather creases, then those creases crack. Conditioning replaces lost oils before that happens.
For regularly worn leather shoes in Dubai, condition every 4–6 weeks. Formal shoes worn occasionally can go longer, but check for a dull, dry look — that's the cue. Over-conditioning is also possible: too much softens the structure, so apply thin coats.
Clean off dust first with a damp cloth. Apply a pea-sized amount of leather conditioner or balm with a soft cloth, working it in with circular motions. Let it absorb for 15–20 minutes, then buff off the excess. Finish with polish if you want shine.
Premium and exotic leathers, or shoes already showing cracks, benefit from professional deep conditioning that penetrates further than consumer products. It's a small cost that meaningfully extends the life of expensive footwear.
